Following the launch of Sound of Scarborough Vol III, this is a relaxed afternoon of original music from the Yorkshire Coast, featuring local songwriters and bands in a unique setting.
Hull-based artist TYMISHA, originally from Hornsea on the Yorkshire coast, creates soulful alt-pop rooted in emotion and belonging. Known for captivating live performances, her powerful vocals and honest lyricism invite reflection and connection. At the weekend we'll be launching 'Sound of Scarborough Vol.3' on glorious vinyl which includes a track by Tymisha - that alone should be enough of a reason to snap up a copy, and to turn up for the start of the afternoon to catch her live performance.
NILS ARNOLD is a stalwart of the Scarborough live music scene as a performer, promoter and a genuine enthusiast for good music whoever is playing it.
As part of the Northern Riots he was responsible for one of last years absolute bangers with 'Seaside Lover' - imagine the storytelling of Dire Straits' 'Romeo & Juliet' combined with the melodic propulsive rock n roll tunesmithery of such as Oasis, filtered through a contemporary indie-punk lens, and you might come close to how good that track is. And it features on our vinyl compilation 'Sound of Scarborough Vol.3',
Scarborough-based artist FRANKIE MAC has spent over 50 years writing and performing his own original music, starting out with a punk ethos before it hit the mainstream. Often blending genres such as rock, folk and country, his music pairs seasoned songwriting with soulful lyrics and melodic hooks shaped by experience. Frankie also appears on our 'Sound of Scarborough Vol.3'.
GREG WELBURN-KELLY blends atmospheric, nature-led soundscapes shaped by a love of birdwatching and the outdoors with songwriting smarts. His debut single 'Dose of Happiness' features on 'Sound of Scarborough Vol.3'. We promise to send you home humming his tunes and floating light as a bird.
