About Chris Mellor, written by his wife Simona C. M.

(My husband and soul mate) Chris Mellor was a playwright, a strategic leader and a modern visionary in the Performing Arts sector, with a particular focus on Community Development and engaging wider audiences in all forms of artistic endeavour.

For 40 years Chris travelled the United Kingdom from Aberdeen to Essex, whilst engaging with many European partners. He worked relentlessly with like-minded leaders, as well as new and older audiences to bring people from all background and cultures into the forefront of the kaleidoscopic world of theatre, performance, stage production and production in all its aspects.

His latest endeavour was in Scarborough, working for the North Yorkshire authority and not for a second, the cancer that ultimately took his life, defeated his commitment to serve the local community through his dedication to the work that enriched his life with passion.

Chris touched and changed so many lives and I am particularly proud of his extraordinary determination to foster diversity and inclusion into every project he developed or supported.
