The Scarborough Fair

One of England’s oldest and largest seaside resorts, Scarborough sits alongside the towns of Whitby and Filey and a host of intriguing coastal villages on the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline. An area rich in heritage and natural landscape, the North York Moors National Park is close by and the cities of York, Harrogate and Hull easily accessible. Hourly trains connect Scarborough with York and to regular connections with all points north, south and west of the UK

Scarborough has historic buildings, an illuminating heritage and a wealth of stories. The world-famous Stephen Joseph Theatre, the Scarborough Spa and Open Air Theatre have over 9,000

seats between them, and attract thousands of visitors each year to eclectic, innovative and popular programmes.

The Scarborough Museums Trust runs the Scarborough Art Gallery, Rotunda Museum and the Woodend Galleries and Studios which provide space for fifty independent creative businesses. Scarborough is host to an array of annual festivals including Books by the Beach, Jazz Festival, Sci-Fi Scarborough, Scarborough Cricket Festival, Seafest and Surf Festival.

Scarborough has ample on and off-street parking across the town.

Travelling by bus

Between 1 November 2023 and 30 November 2024, a single bus journey will cost no more than £2.50 on most routes across England, with the majority of the local bus operators in North Yorkshire taking part in the Government’s price cap scheme.

Travelling by train

York to Scarborough by train takes around 1 hours 15 minutes, with departures every 44 minutes.

Hull to Scarborough takes around 1 hours 20 minutes, with departures every hour. 

Location: It takes around five minutes to walk between the station and Scarborough town centre.

Parking: Parking is available for up to 84 vehicles.

Accessibility: the whole station is step-free, and wheelchairs, ramps and Induction Loops are readily available

Cycle storage: On platform 3 there are spaces for 26 bikes with both shelter and CCTV available.
