The Scarborough Fair Box Office – Terms & Conditions

- Ticket Sales & Refunds
- All tickets are non-refundable, except under specific circumstances or at the discretion of The Scarborough Fair or the event organiser.
- It is the ticket holder’s responsibility to check the details of their booking immediately after purchase.
- Booking Fee
- A £1 booking fee per ticket applies, capped at £5 per order.
- This fee goes directly to The Scarborough Fair Community Fund, which supports local artists in creating work for future Scarborough Fair festivals and events.
- Exchanges
- Ticket exchanges are permitted only:
- At the discretion of the Box Office.
- For the same event on a different performance date.
- Not permitted within 24 hours of the performance.
- Lost, Stolen, or Fraudulent Tickets
- The Scarborough Fair is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.
- Bookings suspected of fraud may be cancelled without notice.
- Concessions
- Concession tickets are available for students, over 60s, under-16s, D/deaf & disabled people, and claimants of state benefits.
- Proof of eligibility may be required at the point of purchase or upon entry. Failure to provide valid proof may result in refusal of entry or the requirement to pay the ticket price difference.
- Personal Assistant Tickets
- Where authorised by the event organiser, The Scarborough Fair may provide one complimentary Personal Assistant (PA) ticket for customers requiring support. PA tickets cannot be purchased separately.
- Cancellations & Rescheduling
- It is the ticket holder’s responsibility to check whether an event has been cancelled, rescheduled, or altered.
- If an event is cancelled, The Scarborough Fair will contact ticket holders to arrange reimbursement, exchange, or credit.
- Refunds or exchanges after an event has taken place are at the sole discretion of the event organiser.
- Admission & Venue Policies
- The Scarborough Fair and event venues reserve the right to refuse admission for safety, legal, or policy reasons.
- Security searches may be conducted.
- Unauthorised photography or recording is prohibited.
- Venues may restrict certain items (e.g., food, drink, laser pens, or pets other than assistance dogs).
- Audience Filming & Photography
- Ticket holders consent to being photographed or filmed for official purposes, unless they request otherwise in writing.
- Liability
- The Scarborough Fair, its venues, and promoters accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
- Seating
- A ticket guarantees the right to a seat of equivalent value. Specific seat allocation is at the discretion of the venue.
- Age Restrictions
- Some events may carry age restrictions. Valid ID may be required. Failure to produce ID may result in refusal of entry without refund.
- Late Admission
- Latecomers may only be admitted at an appropriate break, and some events may prohibit late entry. Refunds will not be given for late arrival.
- Behaviour
- Disruptive, abusive, or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from the venue, without refund.
- The Scarborough Fair reserves the right to blacklist individuals from future events where misconduct occurs.
- Consumer Rights & Exemptions
- Ticket purchases are exempt from the UK Consumer Contract Regulations as they relate to dated services.
- Refunds, exchanges, or credit notes may be offered at the discretion of The Scarborough Fair.
- Credit Notes
- Where offered, credit notes will be valid for a specified period. Unused credits after expiry will not be refunded.
- Gift Vouchers & Memberships
- Gift vouchers are valid for one year unless otherwise stated.
- Memberships are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances.
- Donations
- All donations are final and non-returnable.
- Communication with Ticket Buyers
- By purchasing a ticket, you consent to The Scarborough Fair contacting you by email for administrative matters directly relating to your purchase. This may include, but not be limited to, event information, changes, cancellations, postponements, or the distribution of a post-event feedback survey.
- Complaints
- Complaints will be handled on a case-by-case basis by The Scarborough Fair.
- Where necessary, complaints may be referred to the North Yorkshire Council Complaints Department for independent review.
