From 1 – 24 December windows across Scarborough will be illuminated with festive creations. In true advent fashion, a different window will be “opened” each evening at 4pm (some locations may vary).

The window is a mixture of different styles, with hand painted details, inspired by the wonderful Scarborough live advent windows from last year, Art Nouveau design and the early 20th century Irish artist Harry Clarke.
Bike & Boot, Cliff Bridge Terrace

The inspiration comes from the situation that most young people who come to SASH are in. The design behind the window display in Bike & Boot is all about contrast. One side of the window and tree signifies what Christmas feels like for a young person facing homelessness and needing SASH, there are no decorations, no lights and no hope. Whereas the other side of the tree is brightly decorated and represents the feelings and wants of a young person who doesn’t need help and support from SASH. Showcasing how different Christmas time is for two young people.
