In Scarborough, we are surrounded by trees. We have the three massive coniferous forests Dalby Forest, Cropton and Langdale Forests of the North Yorkshire Moors.
We have more gentle, deciduous woods scattered along the Wolds. In Scarborough itself we have the nearby woods of Raincliffe and Oliver's Mount, the woods of Peasholm Glen, the inner city trees of Alma Square and Trafalgar Road. But are we in danger of taking these trees for granted? When was the last time you looked at a tree, really looked! Examined the trunk, the roots, looked up into the canopy of leaves and branches?
'Trees' is a photographic exhibition celebrating the look and details of trees, from their root structure to the twisted gnarled trunks, to their fallen leaves. A photographic exhibition that reminds us of the majesty and beauty of the everyday trees that surround us.
