Advent Calendar

This December, we’re launching Scarborough’s first Live Advent Calendar. From 1 – 24 December, windows across streets and neighbourhoods in Scarborough will be illuminated with festive creations. A different street will be “opened” each evening at 4pm (some streets may vary).

Join us to walk around the streets and enjoy the scenes of each window display.

Day 1: St Nicholas Street

Day 2: Castle Terrace & Castle Gate

Day 3: Cornelian Drive, Cornelian Avenue & The Oval

Residents will be accompanied by an acoustic duo for some Christmas Carols as the windows on the streets are revealed

Day 4: Scalby High Street

Day 5: Falsgrave Road

Day 6: St Thomas Street

Day 7: York Place

Day 8: Huntriss Row & Bar Street

Day 9: Fulford Road

Day 10: Eastborough

Day 11: Lowdale Avenue

Day 12: Harewood Avenue

Harewood Avenue in lights from 4pm

Day 13: The Esplanade

Day 14: Royal Avenue South Cliff

Day 15: Nansen Street

Day 16: High Street and High Moor Way (Eastfield)

Join in the Eastfield Christmas celebrations from 2pm, with entertainment, family activities and Christmas shopping.

Day 17: Raleigh Street

Day 18: St Helen's Square & Newborough

Day 19: Victoria Road

Day 20: St Sepulchre Street

Day 21: St Mary's Street

Day 22: The Crescent

Day 23: Prospect Road

Day 24: Gladstone Road

Once the windows on a street have opened, they will remain lit up until after Christmas Day.

Win a festive hamper!

As part of the Live Advent Calendar, we’ve also launched a lantern competition, open to everyone.

To enter, simply design and create your own festive lantern, take a picture of your creation and upload it to Facebook and Instagram tagging @thescarbfair in your post. The competition closes at midday on Wednesday 20th December, and the winner will be announced on Christmas Eve. Good luck, and enjoy crafting!
