Search the Crescent Gardens and peek at Scarborough’s nostalgic past to discover familiar and some less well-known sides to this much-loved town, in an exciting new installation for Scarborough Lights.
Enjoy old Scarborough scenes from the museums’ extensive photographic collection, selected by a community of museum volunteers, including historic moments like skipping day, the pancake race, herring girls at work and the Dutch Festival parades of the 1960s and 70s.
With the help of young museum visitors and residents, see new works of art exploring Scarborough’s present. Created during the summer holidays, the artworks are inspired by nature, people and places as well as objects, paintings and stories from the museums’ collection.
Presented by Scarborough Museums and Galleries for Scarborough Lights.
Scarborough Art Gallery will be open until 6.30pm each day of Stories Under the Stars.
